lyrics can be great fun

so I'm not quite sure what the heck I'm doing with this blog dealio yet. a lot of my friends have gotten them recently so I decided that it would be fun to have a blog; however I'm not so sure that I want it to be public because I don't want people to be judging me hardcore on this, and I don't have enough confidence to just totally own what I'm saying. so for now this is just going to be a way for me to say whatever I want until some creeper finds this and reads it. I guess if you're reading this then you must be said creeper. so HEYYYYY what's up?! but okay back to the point of the blog. so I don't have many deep things to say, but I do LIVE for song lyrics. I know...it's extremely sterotypical and boring and yadayadayada but that's all I can bring to this blog to make it slightly less boring. so that's what I will do.  I guess I can post some lyrics that are currently running through my head and discuss them. because I ALWAYS have songs in my head and often annoy people by singing. I can't help it people...I'm sorry! but my voice isn't bad so I guess that makes it slightly better. also if you haven't died of boredom yet and are still reading this, you probably have recognized that I don't use caps a lot. I apologize if that annoys you. but you chose to keep reading this so oh well. ok so today I will start with lyrics to the song "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman...with an amazing cover by Boyce Avenue. It doesn't have a crazy complicated melody but the words are awesome. beneath this epic paragraph of me rambling are those lyrics....anddddd here they are

"Fast Car"

You got a fast car
I want a ticket to anywhere
Maybe we make a deal
Maybe together we can get somewhere
Any place is better
Starting from zero got nothing to lose
Maybe we'll make something
But me myself I got nothing to prove

You got a fast car
And I got a plan to get us out of here
I been working at the convenience store
Managed to save just a little bit of money
We won't have to drive too far
Just 'cross the border and into the city
You and I can both get jobs
And finally see what it means to be living

You see my old man's got a problem
He live with the bottle that's the way it is
He says his body's too old for working
I say his body's too young to look like his
My mama went off and left him
She wanted more from life than he could give
I said somebody's got to take care of him
So I quit school and that's what I did

You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so we can fly away
We gotta make a decision
We leave tonight or live and die this way

I remember we were driving driving in your car
The speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
And I had a feeling that I belonged
And I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone

You got a fast car
And we go cruising to entertain ourselves
You still ain't got a job
And I work in a market as a checkout girl
I know things will get better
You'll find work and I'll get promoted
We'll move out of the shelter
Buy a big house and live in the suburbs

You got a fast car
And I got a job that pays all our bills
You stay out drinking late at the bar
See more of your friends than you do of your kids
I'd always hoped for better
Thought maybe together you and me would find it
I got no plans I ain't going nowhere
So take your fast car and keep on driving

You got a fast car
But is it fast enough so you can fly away
You gotta make a decision
You leave tonight or live and die this way

Ok so back to my random ramblings....my opinions on this song. well first, I just like how it's very simple. but also I love how it tells a real story because not all songs take the time to track an entire relationship. and for some reason, I'm addicted to listening to this song on repeat. it is quite sad, though, that the fast car doesn't get them on the fast track to bliss. because in the end they don't end up together. I'm a fairly optimistic person, so I guess that I sort of wish that it would all work out. my favorite lines in the song are, "You gotta make a decision, You leave tonight or live and die this way" just because sometimes I feel like you really do need to get yourself out of the boring old routine that we all live in and get away; otherwise you could feel so stuck. ok well I'm exhausted and not saying anythig inspirational at all. BUT I hope that you enjoy this song and can come up with deeper stuff to obtain from it!
